Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament!

Attention Lords and Ladies!!
Are your little ones into knights, horses, princesses or just the whole medieval lifestyle? Well this is the perfect place for you! Located conveniently inside Sugarloaf Mills, this large arena has lots to offer!
(When you arrive at Sugarloaf Mills, be sure to park by the BIG CASTLE you can't miss it. ;) )

Upon arrival, you will be given a crown that matches with a certain section and given the opportunity to take your picture with someone from the "Royal Family". After this, you are given the option to go to your seats or enjoy the bar, souvenirs or just admire all the great props! Since we have a one year old, we waited to take our seats until right before it started so he was able to run around and be free!!

Once at your seats, you realize every seat in this place is incredible! They had your seats positioned perfectly and there was only a handful of rows so everyone was able to feel like they had the BEST seat in the house. As you pick up your napkin, you will find a menu with everything you will be served and your wench(waitress) briefs on the fact that they intend on making this experience as pure as possible... so NO silverware. (Who knew they served Pepsi back in the day... hehe ) Then as the lights dimmed and the audio kicked in.. we knew the show was about to begin.

Just to brief you on the show: Lots of horses, knights, fighting, games.. you know everything you have imagined going on back in the Medieval Times except its actually happening right in front of you! It was incredible and kept you on the edge of your seat as you cheered your knight on (this is where the different color crowns and the sections come in play). Unfortunately, our knight was beaten but we still cheered for our "side" of the arena, haha. Jude and my husband loved the horses and the loud fighting (as any boy would).. Jude also loved clapping for every single knight, haha!  The food was better then I expected.. the portions are VERY large so it was enough to feed me and my "lap child".... they offer alternatives to people with food allergies which I thought was wonderful.

Overall, we will definitely go again! We have been three times in the past 2 years and now that my husband realizes my son is starting to get into it.. I see this number drastically increasing!

Tips:
  • They sell flags and lights at your seats so bring extra cash
  • Gratuity is not added to the checks, so keep your waitress in mind
  • Every seat in the house is good but for special occasions you can book one of the first couple rows and have them announce it!
  • They will bring your picture to your seat and show you; be prepared to pay $20 for the pictures but you have the option to buy after the show if you wish.
  •  Don't be shy! Cheer for your knight and really ENJOY the experience!

Magical Nights of Lights at Lake Lanier Islands

One of the best moments you can share with your family is looking at Christmas lights!

We decided to take our son to Magical Nights of Lights for the first time on Sunday. On the way, we stopped by QuikTrip and grabbed a coupon (which doubles in November). We were very surprised to find no traffic, no line and it was extremely easy to find from 985.

When you first enter the magic is already happening.. lights are everywhere and you start to wonder "Did I miss the ticket booth?" lol. You continue driving down a curvy road and my son was already excited once he saw the Spongebob lights! Yes they have SPONGEBOB! That's a kid show that I can enjoy lol!

You finally reach the ticket booth and cry a little as you pay anywhere from $40-$60(per car) depending on your coupons. Once you enter you realize it was worth it there are lights everywhere!! Luckily, it wasn't crowded so we were able to stop and let our son enjoy his favorites. Of course, you have the people who enjoy riding your butt and then swerve around you.. but who cares? We paid a good bit to get in.. so we were definetly going to enjoy it so don't feel pressured to rush but I do suggest turning off your headlights!!

After miles of lights, you reach Santas Village. This is my favorite part because you get to roast marshmallows! We immediately went and grabbed a marshmallow stick to roast ($2/per stick) and Jude enjoyed his first roasted marshmallow while my husband enjoyed his smore kit ($3.25). While roasting "snow" came from a machine above and it actually looked and felt like snow it was very neat! We ventured through the little shop and let Jude choose a few decorations (Ornaments on average were $7/each) and then looked at all the rides.. be prepared with the little ones you must be at least 32" to ride most of the kid-friendly rides. The ticket prices were $1/each and how many tickets each ride took varied. We noticed the pony's and decided that would be best suited for a toddler; Jude enjoyed petting and interacting with them. The pony's seemed very friendly and docile but we weren't quite ready for him to ride them yet. ($6/pp)

Overall, we really enjoyed the lights! The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the pricing for everything you get really wasn't bad! So spoil yourself and go enjoy the Christmas Season at Lake Lanier!

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

- Coupons DOUBLE only in Novemeber
- Ice Skating Rink for older kids ($10/pp with skates included)
- Night Light Canopy Tours (for the thrill seekers in your family)
- Live Nativity Show starts in December
- Don't rush through! Enjoy the lights!
- ROAST MARSHMALLOWS!

Ahh the Christmas season is FINALLY everywhere!

We attended the Atlantic Station Tree Lighting and the GA Aquarium on Saturday!

First off, I am a BIG BIG fan of the Georgia Aquarium. From the moment you arrive, you feel a little excited. It was very crowded, it was the week before Thanksgiving, but we made the best of it and Jude pushed his way to the front of most of the exhibits. I think our favorite part has always been the HUGE exhibit that show all of the ocean wildlife. It is so exciting pointing out all the sharks, whales.. and even the little guys to Jude. He got very confused when he saw the divers waving but playfully waved back as they went swimming by (I know what I will be doing in about 10 years lol). I was disappointed to see the Jellyfish were off exhibit because you are guaranteed great pictures with them. We attended the Dolphin Show at the latest showing.. and let me say now that show is NOT fast enough to keep Judes attention. He would get so bored whenever the dolphins weren't doing some fantastic trick and the guys singing did NOT entertain my little one. I thought it was a great show but if you have a kid under 2.. I would pass. When the show was over and after Jude had made it a lovely experience for the man in front of us (haha) we headed out of the building.. and we were greeted with Christmas lights everywhere! The park was lit up and there was a band! I mean that's the kind of exit I like, made us even more excited about the Atlantic Station Festival!

Okay.. so we headed towards Atlantic Station and realized going this late in the evening was not the brightest idea. We sat in traffic for about a good 45 minutes before deciding to stop and eat. We eventually arrived and spent a ridiculous time circling looking for a parking spot... we finally found one. My husband was not a happy camper at this point but as soon as we arrived to all the festivities my husband cheered up. Santa Claus was out.. bands were playing.. food was everywhere and it was lit up. It was at this moment I realized I forgot my camera in the car. We enjoyed the band and Jude loved running around and giving us a good chase until it was time to light up the tree. It was SO beautiful and a GREAT experience. I think this is a festival we will be attending every year...

Sweetamagoos Review and GIVEAWAY!

So one of my biggest weaknesses (according to my husband) is I LOVE clothes. I especially love baby clothes!  What he doesn't understand is the process! I spend weeks looking for an outfit, then the excitement of dressing Jude up and having random strangers going out of their way to compliment and inquire about Jude's look... brightens my day a little bit. (even though I look like I have no sense of fashion myself lol)

So after hours browsing through Etsy shops looking for the perfect outfit for Judes first birthday.. I came across Sweetamagoos!! The shop was not only local but they did GREAT work! I placed an order immediately and had the quickest response and turnaround time ever.. literally. I recieved all of my products in less then 2 weeks as Judes birthday was quickly approaching! I inquired about different colors and fit of the shirt.. and with NO hesitation she delivered the product exactly as I had asked. Now that is QUALITY customer service.

Would you like one of these fashionable tie-shirts for your little one? Well your in luck!

We are giving away ONE tie shirt with choice of size and print!!
